For the container a high gloss material withstanding urine was desired and thus the POLYfill PP HBK1501515 developed and selected. The glossy surface is obtained by a combination of the special features of the compound and a highly polished mould. For some parts exposed for mechanical stress, an impact modified PA66 with reinforcement was the solution and for other parts where the main demand was a low warpage - a mineral and impact modified PA66 was selected.(SCANAMID 66 PA66 A321E Q30). For an externally placed grill being exposed to UV-light logically a UV-resistant material was selected (POLYasa 1614F.) Since there is an electric-fan mounted in some of the toilets – there was also a demand for a flame retardant material and thus a POLYabs V0E was selected for a fan-housing. The POLYabs V0E is a flame retardant grade containing brome but as it complies with demand from RoHS – Restriction of Hazardous Substances – 2002/95/EC it was acceptable.
