Algol Chemicals has acquired Buratec Oy, Polykemi’s agent in Finland since 2009. The acquisition strengthens the joint position in the Finnish market and brings extensive experience and specialist knowledge under one roof.

Acquisition of Buratec
With the acquisition, Buratec’s operations become part of Algol, where the three employees Jari, Teemu and Sini from Buratec will continue in their roles under Algol’s management. Together, they strengthen Algol’s presence and expertise in the market while ensuring continuity in customer relationships and product offerings.
“We are excited to begin our journey with Algol Chemicals and believe we will provide a great addition to the company’s portfolio. We have established a significant foothold among plastic product manufacturers, and this acquisition will ensure the availability of our products well into the future,” says Jari Kerbs, Managing Director of Buratec, according to Algol’s press release.
Continuity in operations
For Polykemi’s customers, daily operations remain unchanged. Buratec’s three employees will continue in their roles with the same dedication and expertise as before. Agreements and deliveries will continue as usual, ensuring a smooth transition. Customers can continue to expect the same smooth service and support, and all contact details are available on the Polykemi website.
Family-owned companies with a long-term focus
As two family-owned companies, Polykemi and Algol share a long-term perspective and a focus on close relationships. This approach shapes how the collaboration is built and how we work with customers and partners.
“For us, it is important to maintain personal contacts and long-term relationships, which we know is also central to Algol. By uniting our family-owned perspectives, we can create stability and security for our customers in the Finnish market going forward,” says Mattias Persson, Chief Commercial Officer at Polykemi Group.
